About

All you need to know about our mental health and wellbeing hub.

Welcome to our mental health and wellbeing hub, in partnership with PESI UK

This new hub has developed from the previous Psychotherapy Excellence portal to provide even more mental health and wellbeing resources.

This hub now provides one place to find essential mental health and wellbeing resources for all staff, volunteers, parents and carers who form part of the Barnardo's family.

As a member of staff or a  volunteer, you can access:

Mental Health and Wellbeing Learning Resources
Barnardo’s 10 year Corporate Strategy identified mental health and wellbeing as a core organisational priority. Supporting our staff and volunteers with quality CPD opportunities is an important aspect of our ambition. We want all our staff to have access to the very best training in mental health, trauma, adversity and wellbeing. No matter what part of the organisation you work in, it is important to us that you have the right opportunities to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge in your job role.

In this section you will find additional learning opportunities over and above the face to face and online trauma-informed practice training being delivered across the organisation.

There are 20 new training packages added so far this year, with around 20 more being added every month.

You will need to register on the portal the first time you access it.  You will have your own training account and regardless of your current knowledge and expertise in the field of trauma there will hopefully be some courses of interest to you. The courses are at foundation, intermediate and advance levels.

The content can be used towards CPD as part of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) or British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accreditation and is delivered by leading international experts in the trauma and adversity field.

The online courses and digital recordings focus on mental health, trauma and adversity therefore please be aware and prepared that the content may be emotive and triggering.

To support you, Barnardo’s offers the Employee Assistance Programme which can be accessed here.

As part of our commitment to being a learning organisation, the courses on this portal can contribute to your three days' learning a year.

Caring for Your Own Mental Health and Wellbeing
Supporting our own mental health and wellbeing is vitally important. So this year you will see we have added a section to the hub specifically related to looking after ourselves. Here you will find articles, blogs, videos, links to websites etc which can support us with our own wellbeing.

Resources to Support Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing
Whether you work in Children’s services and need resources to support the children and young people you work with, or are looking for resources to support your own children, hopefully there will be information, articles, blogs etc here to help.

Please take some time to explore our new mental health and wellbeing hub and do let me know if you come across any resources you would like to be added.
